Guess who's back?
I'm back from my field trip!
It was quite an experience i must say. For starters, i thought i was the sort of person who couldn't live in grubby conditions, but guess what, i did it. Gross bunk beds, toilets infested with insects, huge ass spiders, bush flies and mozzies everywhere. I also thought i was never really that 'i-can-walk-on-grass' sort of person. I've even managed to wade through swamps, getting myself dirty, touching almost everything i can see, eating from not very clean plates etc etc.
Highlights of this field trip was
Skin condition: so damn dry, as dry as Aussie
Net gain in weight:10000000kg ( i swear im getting fatter by the day)
Price of this experience: -
And so, i hope you've enjoyed the pictures more that this entry. Afterall, a picture says a thousand words
On a lighter note, I just found out that Thursday is shopping night in Sydney. Malls are opened till 9, they usually close at 5pm. And the supermarket closes at 12mn. Woohoo.
I might drop by Paddy's Market next week, which is pretty much near Chinatown.
And did i also mention, i love the dairy products in Aussie. The ice cream, even the cheapest brand taste so damn goood. Way better than Sg's really. And their milo, they taste so special. Haha. And who could ever forget those delectable Tim Tams!! I'm getting mine tmr! A huge tub of ice cream (4L) here, costs only $3.50. What a steal huh! Each tub comes with half choc and vanilla. Yummmmm.
Today, i had mackers (macdonalds in aussie) during the break journey when we're on our way back to our campus. I ordered a happy meal cuz i liked the carebear pencilbox. Haha, and plus, a proper macdonalds meal isn't exactly the healthiest thing to eat on planet earth.
And for dinner, we went over to our neighbour's to cook again. This group of neighbours didn't have a rice cooker. They cooked using the pot, and the rice turned out clumpy like glutinous rice. And it was hard. Er...but yeah, sardines were good! heh.
Lecture starts proper tomorrow. Ah well.
Hmm...who would've thought i actually like the field trip. I mean, initially, you had no idea how apprehensive i was especially on the first night. With all the damn creepy crawlies on/under/beside my bed and everywhere else. As days few by, i've adapted pretty well. Just when i've started to like that place, we had to leave.
Note to myself:

Highlights of this field trip was
- spot-lighting at night (read: carrying powerful torches looking for animals in the forest and swamps
- bat trapping. those little bats. Aww..
- trapping of some animals. Like the bush rats. So cute they are.
- Bird watching early in the morning
- The laughter of the kookabara every single morning
- Kangeroos and koalas (not koala bear, they are not bears)
- frogging (going to the ponds late at night to see frogs)
- the peaceful and serene lake. We saw bacteria that could give off sparks. So damn cool
- the proper way to dice a carrot
- how to cut a watermelon
- the right way to cook steak, and know when its cooked
- no qualms about drinking rainwater with mozzie larvae
- baits used to trap animals were made of peanut butter and some raw oats
- the australians love their wildlife environment alot!!!
- how to use a rice cooker
